Coloring tips and tricks
Some people enjoy coloring as a form of meditation, and others use it as an escape from the stresses of daily life. Whatever your reasons may be, there are a few helpful tips and tricks to keep in mind when you first pick up a pencil.
Tip 1: You don’t have to be perfect!
It’s more important to relax and have fun than to make sure your lines are all straight. Give yourself some time too–don’t rush into filling in every section of the page immediately. Remember that you can always go back with some white-out if mistakes happen or you change your mind.
*Keep in mind that white-out doesn’t really adhere to the coloring pencil on top of it. I’ve had better success using a white paint pen instead. It’s thinner than liquid paper(white-out) and works better at small corrections while working with colored pencils. You can find them at a craft or art supply retailer.
Tip 2: Choose the appropriate paper for the job
- Pro Tip: Use cardstock in place of standard printer paper to get a higher-quality coloring experience and printout. Find it anywhere that printer paper is sold.
